Dried Fruit Cocoa Balls

story

These cocoa-dusted dried fruit energy balls are the perfect guilt-free indulgence—naturally sweet, packed with nutrients, and rich in flavour. Made with a blend of dates, figs, or apricots, these bite-sized treats offer a chewy, caramel-like texture, balanced with the deep richness of cocoa.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup walnuts
  • ¼  cup raisins
  • ½ cup dried prunes
  • ½ cup dried peaches
  • ½ cup dried apricot
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 to 2 tablespoon freshly pressed orange juice
  • Cocoa powder to coat the balls

Directions

Place the nuts, dried fruits and orange zest in the bowl of a food processor and process until finely ground up.

Slowly pour in just enough orange juice to obtain a sticky paste and process everything together.

Form small balls with the nuts and dried fruit paste and place them on a sheet of wax paper to dry for about 2 hours before placing them in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

If desired, roll the balls in some cocoa powder before letting them air dry for a nice chocolaty addition.
